Treasures

We’re not looking for the flaws.  We’re discovering the treasures that are present in every person, home, and neighborhood.  We want to know what communities look like when they are at their best and support them as they develop the positive aspects and leverage them to overcome the negative.  It’s about changing the question…and staying around long enough to hear the answers.

Search Institute’s Developmental Assets® guide our work.  The Developmental Assets® are 40 common sense, positive experiences and qualities that help influence choices young people make and help them become caring, responsible adults.  They happen when adults take the time to build positive relationships with young people in the their lives – wherever and whenever they encounter them.  They happen best when whole communities engage in the vital work of nurturing our children.
